Say Stone Mountain around here and people arent sure if you mean the City of Stone Mountain, the village or the park, which of course includes the actual mountain. If you live ‘in town’ here in Atlanta, you likely think first of the park, and for good reason.
Stone Mountain is an unmistakebale outcrop of grannite sticking up out of the ground about 15 miles from downtown Atlanta. If you leave the KIng Center and go west you’ll be there.
The mountain is rounded and can be climbed on foot or reached via a cable car reminiscent of your alpine vacation. From there you can see back into Atlanta
